Big News! Now customers need to pay additional fees to order from Amazon India, even Prime customers need to pay the fees, check details. Amazon has added this Marketplace fee saying that it is to provide convenient shopping experience to the users.

Amazon India is now charging a Marketplace Fee on orders from its customers. Amazon Prime Membership subscribers are also required to pay the Marketplace fees. Amazon says it enables Amazon to offer convenient access to a vast range of products from millions of sellers. Now online shopping is more costly.

How much is Amazon Marketplace Fees

Previously, Marketplace Fee was applied only to non-Prime users. But as of now, every customer including Prime subscriber must have to pay a flat ₹5 Marketplace Fee per order, inclusive of all applicable taxes. This fee is also applied to items Amazon fulfilled products.

Why Amazon India charging Marketplace Fee

Amazon has stated that the fee is charged to provide customers with “convenient access to a vast range of products from millions of sellers.” A few weeks ago, Amazon India introduced a ₹49 processing fee on Instant Bank Discount offers. Now, with this new fee, customers are dissatisfied for having Amazon Prime membership.

Amazon Marketplace Fee Refund Policy

Amazon says Marketplace Fee is fully refundable only if the complete order is cancelled before shipment or rejected by customer at the doorstep. If the order is returned after delivery, no refund will be issued, even if the item is returned in full.

For partial cancellations or rejections, a partial refund of the fee is provided based on the value of the returned items.

On Reddit, users pointed out that Flipkart is charging ₹3 as a platform fee from Plus members, and Myntra charges ₹20 from Elite members.
